The ancient town of Akwanga came alive as the Grand Finale of the 2nd Edition Maikaya Development Foundation Football Tournament for Nasarawa North Senatorial Zone ended in a colourful and electrifying atmosphere.
Organized by the Maikaya Development Foundation, the tournament once again reaffirmed its strong commitment to peace, unity, and youth empowerment through sports across the Nasarawa North Senatorial Zone.
Football lovers, youths, and community leaders turned out in large numbers to witness a thrilling final filled with passion, talent, and outstanding sportsmanship. In a dramatic penalty shootout, Akwanga Selected FC emerged champions after defeating Raising Stars FC of Nasarawa Eggon, sealing a memorable victory that drew loud cheers from supporters.
The grand finale also featured special recognitions as Dr. Muhammed Musa Maikaya, CEO of the Foundation, received multiple awards and honours from the NASSA National Body, the League of Supporters of Nasarawa North, and organizers of the annual football competition in appreciation of his unwavering commitment to youth development and grassroots empowerment.
